Out on the Shelf is a library and resource centre for the LGBTTTSIQQ communities and allies. The centre is staffed regularly so that the community can come and access books, find out about the diverse range of events, resources and services and share a queer friendly space. Rainbow Health Ontario

Rainbow Health Ontario (RHO) is a province-wide program that works to improve the health and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people in Ontario through education, research, outreach and public policy advocacy. 

We are based at Sherbourne Health Centre in downtown Toronto. Sherbourne has been providing comprehensive primary health programs and services to the LGBT communities since 2003 and frequently provides consultation and expertise on LGBT health issues.

OUTline

OUTline is a resource and support service that specializes in questions and issues relating to sexual orientation and gender identity. OUTline pays particular attention to the needs of individuals who have not or are just beginning to come-out, as well as to the individuals in their lives (friends & families) who are supporting them.

Pride Patrol

Pride Patrol is an organization for queer youth in the Guelph area to get access to resources, get educated meet people, fund raise, and just have fun! We will be operating out of Guelph's own queer library (www.outontheshelf.ca) and welcome all kids between the ages of 13 and 19 (approximate, exceptions can be made). Remember, all the cool kids are queer!*

ACCKWA's GLBTQ Youth Group

Provides a safe and supportive atmosphere for youth ages 16-24 who are gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning to discuss issues that are relevant to them while respecting confidentiality.

Guelph Queer Equality (GQE)

Guelph Queer Equality provides a safe space and supportive environment for all people in the trans, bisexual, lesbian, and gay community. People of all races, religions, sexual orientations, genders, ages, and abilities are welcome. Guelph Queer Equality events are not restricted to the University Community, they are open to people from the Guelph Community in general.

Tuesday Night Socials:

Almost every Tuesday you can come hang out with GQE as we tackle a variety of different topics in different formats ranging from movies to workshops and discussions. There will also be nights to socialize and do something fun, like crafts, games and swimming! Tuesday Night Socials are only run during the fall and winter semesters.

GBTQ Men's Drop-In at OOTS

GBTQ Men's Drop-In at OOTS is a drop-in for gay, bisexual, trans, and queer men 19+.

OOTS is open on the LAST Monday of every month at Out on the Shelf for GBTQ men to drop in, chat, learn something, and meet new people.

Rainbow Chorus of Waterloo Wellington

The Rainbow Chorus is a charitable, non-profit organization of amateur non-auditioned choral singers. We join together in song and celebrate the diversity of our community.

Our members (gay, lesbian, bi, trans and straight) come from small towns throughout South Western Ontario.

The Rainbow Chorus depends on financial support from its members, sponsors and communities.

OK2BME - Waterloo Region

OK2BME is a set of support services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning (LGBTQ) kids and teens in Waterloo Region.

These support services include:

  • LGBTQ-positive individual and family counselling;
  • social and recreational groups;
  • public education;
  • consultation and collaboration;
  • and, help establishing Gay-Straight Alliances and other similar initiatives in local schools.

All of the services are free and confidential.

Every day, PFLAG Canada volunteers are contacted by frightened adolescents and by angry, fearful or ashamed parents. PFLAG Canada supports, educates and provides resources to anyone with questions or concerns. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Gay/Bi Men's Social Group (on Facebook) for Guelph, Kitchener, Cambridge, and Waterloo

A social group facebook page for gay and bi men in the area. A place to make plans to get out of the house and have some fun. The Wellness Centre, University of Guelph

The Wellness Centre is a student run resource centre at the University of Guelph. The Centre offers information about issues which affect students lives. The centre is staffed by trained Peer Helpers and Volunteers who respond to questions and concerns of students who drop-in, email or call. There is also a Student Wellness Educator, Melanie Bowman, who is available for consultation by email: mbowman@uoguelph.ca or by phone 519-824-4120 ext. 56046. 

The Wellness Centre provides services for University of Guelph students and the Guelph community. The centre provides resources and references, runs programs and workshops, and disperses a wide variety of information on a variety of health and wellness issues. There are ten groups located at the Wellness Centre that promote these different issues. The groups are as follows:

NAKED - Sexuality Awareness

NAKED strives to promote a sex-positive environment within which sexuality can be experienced and explored.  Through interactive workshops and events, we hope to generate an open and informed forum for discussion on a wide variety of sexuality related issues.  We encourage the development of healthy sexuality and healthy relationships within a values framework which emphasizes diversity, inclusiveness and respect.

NAKED primarily focuses on running workshops and events on the University of Guelph campus. During awareness weeks, NAKED is dedicated to running informative programming both in residence and in the community to promote sexual health and sexual communication. Sex-Tac-Toe, Hot n’ Spicy, LGBTQ, and Sex Toy Workshops are also available by request.

SpeakOUT

SpeakOUT! is dedicated to raising awareness of and initiating education about issues related to oppression, diversity and human rights. With a focus on LGBTQ issues, our goals include the elimination of all forms of oppression on campus, such as homophobia, transphobia, and heterosexism and a greater awareness and education of oppression related issues both locally and globally.

SpeakOUT! is a student run group out of The Wellness Centre. SpeakOUT! provides resources and runs programs and workshops to increase awareness and education on a variety of LGBTQ issues. Rainbow Women's Soccer League

A recreational soccer league for LGBT women and LGBT positive women in K/W and surrounding area. The league's goal is to provide a safe space for lesbian/bisexual/transgendered and gay positive/supportive women in KW and surrounding areas to learn and play the sport of soccer. Furthermore, it is to encourage physical outdoor activity and to provide an alternative to meeeting new friends.
